The dose is not standard. It has to be calculated given your age, weight and the strength of the tablet.
There will also be differences on the number of tablets you take, the length of time between each dose, and the total length of the course of treatment. If you are comparing notes with others taking this medication, do not be tempted to change your dose to match their dose. Your dermatologist has made the appropriate calculation for you.
Take that recommended dose. If you do not see an immediate result, do not worry. Some people do not see an improvement for six or more weeks. Never be tempted to increase the dose without first discussing the implications with your dermatologist or pharmacist. There are real risks of side effects if you exceed the recommended dose. It is advisable to take each tablet with food and drinking at least one full glass of water. This reduces the risk of discomfort in the stomach and allows the drug to pass more slowly into the blood stream. If you do miss a dose, never double up next time round. Stay on the schedule given as much as possible. |
